Ranova’s Sydney Debut a Success: A Chinese Freeze-Dried Brand—A Genuine Proof of “Attraction” in One Go.

From August 22 to 23, 2026, at the Sydney Showground, a grand event for our furry friends—the Sydney Dog Lovers Festival will be held concurrently with the Cat Lovers Festival. Among numerous international brands, one from Tianjin has particularly caught attention—Ranova Pet Food. For the first time, their classic raw-cut freeze-dried treats, freeze-dried lollipops, yogurt cubes, waffles, and other products will make their official debut at Australia’s major pet consumer expo.

Over the course of two days, the Ranova booth welcomed many new friends, and the on-site inventory quickly sold out. This was the first time Ranova had gotten a close-up look at the Australian market—seeing firsthand why local consumers stopped by, why they made a purchase, and why they returned the next day to make repeat purchases.

I was drawn in by the design at first glance, but stayed because of the product.

At the Sydney exhibition, most pet food brands emphasized ingredients, safety, and naturalness, with relatively understated visual presentations. In contrast, Ranova’s platinum booth stood out with its simple yet striking design, along with its iconic cat and dog ambassadors, creating a noticeable contrast at the event.

According to feedback from the Australian agency team, many visitors were first drawn to the booth and its packaging upon entering the venue, then stopped to learn more after asking questions like, “What’s this?” and “Can pets eat lollipops too?” Some people praised the cat character as resembling an oil painting, while other children even pulled their parents over to the booth and proactively chose products they liked.

This answers a long-standing question: cute, fun designs don't necessarily equate to being aimed at younger audiences. For consumers who truly treat their pets as family members, such designs convey intimacy, interaction, and a sense of ritual.

Multiple products made a collective debut and sold out quickly during the two-day exhibition.

This time, Ranova showcased eight key freeze-dried products: four flavors of classic, raw-cut, single-ingredient freeze-dried meat; two varieties of freeze-dried lollipops; yogurt cubes; and waffles. Among these, the freeze-dried chicken breast and the lollipops became the crowd favorites at the event—especially the lollipops, which are Ranova’s top-selling product in China, available in a variety of flavors including goat milk, cranberry, pumpkin, blueberry, and barley grass.

The higher-priced freeze-dried salmon has also received unexpectedly strong acceptance. Many consumers—from first seeing the product and learning about its features to placing an order—had a remarkably short decision-making process. By the next day, the on-site stock was virtually sold out, prompting some consumers to switch to online pre-orders instead.

More notably, some consumers who had purchased products on the first day and tried them out on their pets at home returned to the booth the next day to buy more; others, who were already customers, even made a special trip to the expo to stock up on supplies.

A two-day exhibition has closed the small loop of “being noticed—making the first purchase—experiencing the product firsthand—making a repeat purchase.” For a brand that has just entered the local consumers’ field of vision, this is far more valuable than mere sales figures from a single transaction.

From the Chinese community to more local pet-owning households. In the past, Ranova’s social media followers in Australia were mostly from the Chinese community.

However, the on-site audience at this exhibition consisted primarily of local consumers—many of whom had never encountered Ranova before, and some even saw for the first time pet treats that combine freeze-drying technology with an interactive format.

After the exhibition, there was a noticeable increase in Instagram followers and user-generated content. Consumer feedback primarily focused on three key aspects: the packaging and product design feel fresh and innovative; pets respond positively to the product; and its use cases—whether as a reward, for interaction, or mixed into pet food—are clearly defined. Ranova doesn't equate feedback from a single trade show directly with long-term market conclusions, but these on-site reactions from real end consumers provide Ranova with more direct validation of its overseas product direction. Ranova was chosen in Australia not because of “low prices.”

Australia boasts outstanding advantages in locally sourced ingredients. For a pet food brand from China, simply repeating slogans like “How great the meat is” or “How natural the ingredients are” isn’t enough to create a genuine market differentiation.

Ranova’s selection this time wasn’t just about price—it was driven by differentiation built on consistently high quality: making freeze-drying more engaging and interactive, transforming pet snacks from mere functional purchases into emotional connections within family life.

Ranova has always believed that quality is the bottom line. Innovation isn't about making products overly complicated; rather, it’s about ensuring that consumers can instantly understand them, are eager to pick them up, and are happy to share the experience with their pets. The true value of pet lollipops, yogurt cubes, and waffles lies in transforming the simple act of “feeding” into a joyful moment shared by both humans and their pets.

Quality gives consumers peace of mind; fun makes the brand memorable; and interaction brings products into family relationships.

After the exhibition, the Australian market enters the next phase. This exhibition also prompted several retail channels—previously in contact but not actively purchasing—to resume collaborative communication. A major local retail platform expressed interest in organizing special events and collaborating on dedicated product displays. Additionally, professional breeding, training, and hound clubs have shown interest in Ranova’s products.

These opportunities mean that in the next phase of Ranova’s presence in Australia, the focus will not just be on exhibition sales—but rather on further refining local supply, retail coverage, social media operations, and product adaptation, ensuring that the attention generated at exhibitions truly translates into long-term channels and brand equity.

Next, Ranova will continue to focus on the freeze-dried product category, optimizing flavors and the pace of new product launches based on feedback from the Australian market, and working together with local agents to enhance supply reliability.

As a company that has been dedicated to freeze-dried pet food for 17 years, Ranova’s products have been exported to over 40 countries worldwide and have earned nine major international certifications, including those from the U.S. FDA, the European Union, Canada’s CFIA, the UK’s BRGCS, and Germany’s IFS. From Tianjin to Sydney, languages, markets, and consumer habits may differ, but people’s love for their pets remains universal. Ranova aspires to reach more pet-owning households around the world by delivering trustworthy freeze-dried quality, warm-hearted designs, and continuous product innovation.

A trade show is not the end point, but rather a genuine and concrete market response in Ranova’s globalization journey.
